Bloomberg has won Best AML/CTF & Sanctions Data Provider at the ninth annual Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence.
HONG KONG, 5 November 2026 – Bloomberg has won Best AML/CTF & Sanctions Data Provider at the ninth annual Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence.
Bloomberg provides a complete sanctions solution, identifying both explicitly sanctioned entities and those that are implicitly sanctioned through ownership. Using Bloomberg’s extensive corporate hierarchy database, security-level mapping and ownership-rule logic surface hidden sanctions exposure across debt and equity instruments. Look-through extends across more than 650,000 mutual funds and ETFs and 60,000 indices daily.
Coverage across Bloomberg’s sanctions solution is broad and continuously updated, with Bloomberg monitoring more than 50 official government sources across 11 key jurisdictions each day, spanning sanctions, export controls and trade restriction lists (BIS, UFLPA, 1260H, FinCEN, OISP, 889, 5949 and the FCC Covered List).
The award adds to Bloomberg's prior Regulation Asia recognitions, including its 2025 highly commended recognition for Best FRTB Solution.
The award recognises the provider of the underlying regulatory datasets, such as AML/CTF, PEPs, sanctions and adverse entities, with the best accuracy, coverage, regional depth and update speed. Judges assessed entries on data accuracy and coverage, regional and local depth, update cadence, and integration and data structure.
“Bloomberg's strongest differentiation is the structure of its sanctions data: corporate hierarchy, implicit sanctions, security mapping and multi-tier portfolio look-through, directly consumable in pre- and post-trade systems,” said a member of the independent judging panel.
“Sanctions exposure often sits in ownership chains and fund holdings, not in a name on a list. Bloomberg showed how to find it there,” said Bradley Maclean, Chair of the Awards Committee, Regulation Asia.
“As sanctions regimes become increasingly complex, clients need reliable, connected data to understand potential exposure and manage risk effectively,” said Kate Lee, Global Head of Enterprise Regulatory Data at Bloomberg. “We are pleased to receive this recognition, which reflects our continued investment in providing clients with the depth, precision and transparency they need to navigate an evolving sanctions landscape.”

About the Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence
Now in their ninth year, the Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence recognise achievements advancing regulatory practice across Asia-Pacific.
The judging process involves an independent panel of senior industry practitioners and the Awards Committee. Entries are assessed against published, award-specific criteria covering Asia-Pacific relevance and material developments in the twelve months to 30 June 2026. Awards are granted against a defined standard rather than relative to other entries.
Judging decisions are independent of editorial and commercial operations. There is no entry, shortlisting or winner fee, and commercial relationships do not influence results.
