      • The ASAM solution enhances compliance operations through advanced machine learning and natural language processing capabilities, allowing institutions to efficiently identify politically exposed persons and sanctioned entities while meeting regulatory requirements.

      • The award highlights the importance of innovation in maintaining regulatory integrity amid evolving geopolitical landscapes, with judges praising ASAM's customisable risk settings and scalable infrastructure, making it suitable for organisations of all sizes.

Dow Jones’ Advanced Screening & Monitoring (ASAM) solution was awarded Best PEPs & Sanctions Screening Solution at the 7th Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2024, on 4 November 2024.

The award recognises Dow Jones Risk & Compliance’s innovative approach to achieving accuracy, adaptability, and regulatory compliance in global sanctions screening.

The Best PEPs & Sanctions Screening Solution award celebrates solutions that drive compliance excellence through advanced screening technologies, recognising tools that offer high accuracy, reduce false positives, and utilise comprehensive data to efficiently identify PEPs and sanctioned entities. This award emphasises the crucial role of innovation in upholding regulatory integrity in an evolving global geopolitical landscape.

Dow Jones’ ASAM solution was selected in a highly competitive category for its high accuracy, adaptability, and alignment with regulatory standards. With advanced machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) capabilities, ASAM helps firms streamline their compliance operations and enhances anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions, and anti-corruption compliance. The solution leverages Dow Jones’ extensive content and risk database, covering PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media globally, enabling institutions to meet regulatory requirements with confidence and precision.

The judges also highlighted ASAM’s customisable risk settings that allows for  customisation with options to adjust screening parameters to specific requirements, along with its scalable infrastructure, which ensures robust performance across high data volumes. “This flexibility makes ASAM an invaluable asset for organisations of all sizes,” said one judge on the Regulation Asia Awards panel. “The Dow Jones ASAM solution stands out for its precision and customisability.”

“This award underscores the broader implications of innovation and technology in today’s dynamic geopolitical and sanctions environment,” said Bradley Maclean, Co-founder of Regulation Asia and Chair of the Awards Committee. “Dow Jones’ ASAM solution exemplifies how advanced tools and comprehensive data can reinforce data integrity, governance, and resilience across the financial sector, setting a new standard for effective compliance in a rapidly evolving global landscape.”

Richard Butler, Head of Proposition, APAC, Dow Jones Risk & Research, said: “We’re delighted to receive the Regulation Asia Awards and we appreciate the judges’ recognition for acknowledging our contributions to the compliance industry. This award is a nod to the entire Dow Jones team who works so hard on either producing our sanctions and PEP data of the highest quality, or delivering our award-winning technology, all of which aligns to regulatory guidance.”

“Geo-political concerns continue to increase in both speed and frequency and sanctions have now become a well established tool of foreign policy. APAC and the world continue to see rapidly evolving regulations and data changes, making our work more important than ever. We also thank our partners and clients for their continued trust in the work that we do.”
