DTCC has won Market Infrastructure of the Year at the ninth annual Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence
HONG KONG, 5 November 2026 – The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the premier post-trade market infrastructure for the global financial services industry, has won the Market Infrastructure of the Year award at the ninth annual Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence, presented at The St. Regis hotel in Hong Kong.
DTCC's Global Trade Repository service (GTR) is the repository of record for three Asia-Pacific regulators - MAS, JFSA, and ASIC – and manages around 80% of global reportable derivatives. During 2026, DTCC’s GTR delivered Hong Kong's reporting rewrite and completed its Asia-Pacific cloud migration. In Hong Kong, DTCC acts as an agent for financial institutions reporting to the HKMA.
This year's recognition highlights DTCC's successful support of the Hong Kong Trade Repository (HKTR) derivatives reporting rewrite, where DTCC introduced a testing simulator and real-time validation responses to help firms detect errors early and accelerate remediation. In addition, DTCC completed the migration of all its APAC Trade Repository services to cloud processing platforms for greater flexibility and scalability while launching two new MiFID Approved Reporting Mechanisms (ARMs), the EU MiFID ARM and the UK MiFID ARM, to support APAC firms with European and UK reporting obligations.
The award recognises the CSD, CCP, trade repository or payment system that made the greatest systemic contribution through efficiency, transparency, resilience and modernisation. Judges assessed market infrastructures on systemic contribution, modernisation and innovation, resilience, and transparency and risk mitigation.
“The only genuine cross-APAC trade repository, with regulatory-authorised status in three APAC markets. In Hong Kong, the rewrite was delivered during the year and the cloud migration completed,” said a member of the independent judging panel.
“Supervisors rely on trade repositories to see risk building. DTCC's repository serves several of the region's supervisors, and kept modernising during the year,” said Nick Wakefield, Co-founder, Regulation Asia.
DTCC previously won the award in 2023 and returns to it this year. As with every returning winner, the panel judged this year's entry on its own merits rather than on past results. DTCC was also recognised this year as the award recipient in Best Trade Reporting Solution category.
